jHASE (ISSN: 1930-6768*) is an independent international open access peer-reviewed journal of proceedings of the Institute of HIV/AIDS Surveillance and Epidemiology (iHASE).
The raison d'etre of the journal is to provide quality assurance & continuing education through peer review of public health surveillance, population transmission dynamics, disease intervention epidemiology and outcome evaluation studies on HIV/AIDS.
All articles are published, without barriers to access, in annual volumes immediately upon acceptance. The journal is published by IEPH, Inc, in partnership with the Institute for Open Access To Peer Reviewed Publications (iOATPRP). Under this partnership arrangement, iOATPRP provides technical and other necessary support services to the Institutes of Epidemiology & Public Health, Inc. (IEPH, Inc, New York & Harrisburg, USA and Johannesburg, South Africa).
IEPH, Inc. is a nonprofit collaborative consortium of institutes whose global virtual network of Epidemiologists and Public Health practitioners promote epidemiologic research in the public interest and are committed to making the world's epidemiologic, scientific and medical expertise, knowledge and literature an easily accessible public resource.

Vol 3, No 1 (2011): HIV/AIDS surveillance and epidemiology studies to advance control and prevention of HIV and related conditions.
Through this and future issues, jHASE aims to advance the use of population-based surveillance data and related studies to make the most immediate impact on public health decisions for the control and prevention of HIV and related conditions.
