DISEASE INTERVENTION INFO|Service Programs on HIV (& RELATED STDs, TB & Viral Hepatitis)

"The reason for collecting, analyzing and disseminating information on a disease is to control that disease. Collection and analysis should not be allowed to consume resources if action does not follow."

Foege WH, International Journal of Epidemiology 1976; 5:29-3

As an Epidemiologic bridge between data collection in public health surveillance and disease intervention programs/services (disease control and prevention), the Model Collaboration Center coordinates the integration of the Public Health Agency's "disease intervention epidemiology" support for HIV(& related STD, TB & Viral Hepatitis) prevention and care programs (disease interventions/services) planning, development, implementation, service delivery/utilization monitoring, outcome evaluation and capacity development.

  • Below are links to WHO & CDC web pages with guidance for Public Health Agencies' surveillance, epidemiology and disease intervention/public health intervention programs/services on HIV(& related STD, TB & Viral Hepatitis). The Model Collaboration Center at the Public Health Agency level is a model for translating these guidelines' and providing disease intervention epidemiology support to the various intervention program implementation levels. The WHO & CDC web pages with guidance for these public health programs are as follows:
