In-Service Training Application Process
The MEGACourse's scheduled training activities integrate online Seminars, Tutorials, a Journal Club and an Interest Group Listserv with practical skill development offered through in-service training on HIV, STDs, TB & Viral Hepatitis (non-enteric) Epidemiology projects that interns and fellows may be assigned to work on. Findings and articles derived from these projects are expected to contribute to Epidemiologic profiles and supplements thereof, which will in turn be used to support public health practice (i.e. disease control and prevention policy and program planning, development, implementation, and outcome evaluation). As a quality assurance and continuing education service, this work is peer-reviewed by jHASE's international panels of external peer reviewers.

Application for In-Service Training Fellowship, Mentors/Faculty  & Trainee Host Sites
 
Application Process:
Applications may be initiated/submitted through the process described on this page during the intake announcement periods in March - May and September - November of each calendar year. During all other periods, application intake information may be obtained through the listserv as described in following instructions also provided below:
  • Applicants:
    • Host Agencies, Mentors/Faculty Interested in Hosting an In-service Trainee: Prospective fellowship host agencies and Mentors/Faculty will complete an i-HASE affiliate application during the announced intake and  host agency application period. To assure uniform adherence to standardized i-HASE host agency eligibility requirements, iHASE-accredited external reviewers will conduct an intake review based on each application and certify eligible host sites for subsequent matching with eligible trainee fellows. Prerequisites, eligibility requirements and guidelines for establishing a Collaboration Center/Unit/Group which can host an in-service trainee are outlined on the page outlining eligibility and how to establish a Collaboration Center/Unit/Group.
    • Applicants for MCAE/FCAE (incl. MCAE-associate) Certification/Credentialing/Accreditation: Prospective nominees for MCAE/FCAE (incl. MCAE-associate) certification/credentialing/accreditation will complete an application for CAE certification/credentialing/accreditation during the announced intake period. To assure uniform adherence to CAE eligibility requirements, CAE-accredited external reviewers will conduct an intake review based on each MCAE/FCAE nominee application and certify eligible applicants. Prerequisites and eligibility requirements are outlined on the page outlining eligibility.
    • Applicants for Trainee Fellow Positions Interested in Short- or Long-term In-Service Training Fellowship: Fellowship applicants will complete an i-HASE and/or health agency application during the announced fellow application period. To assure uniform adherence to standardized i-HASE fellowship eligibility requirements, i-HASE-accredited external reviewers will conduct an intake review based on fellowship application and certify eligible fellows for subsequent health agency matching, selection and placement. Prerequisites and eligibility requirements are outlined on the page outlining eligibility.
  • Initiating an Application:
    • To initiate the application process, interested parties should send a brief letter of interest by e-mail with the required information following one of two ways for initiating an application as follows:
      • 1) A link to your completed Community of Science PHS.398 format profile ( Join & Submit your CosProfile for Free ), and
        • A completed 1-page CAE - College of Applied Epidemiology accreditation form for potential faculty /training program preceptors - Form B(cae-accreditation) which is accessible through this link  (please complete this form in its entirety to also indicate/reference experience and qualifications described on the bio sketch which substantiates eligibility for MCAE and/or FCAE credentialing of potential faculty/preceptors.
